For my print making project I decided to randomly choose a models face. I did this because I wanted a challenge, and I love drawing faces. First, I sketched out my models face. Next, I flipped the paper over the pencil part facing down on a linoleum block. I then just colored harshly on the back causing the led to rub off onto the linoleum. I started to carve out everything but the pencil lines from the linoleum next. I cut myself two times with the sharp tools, but in the end it was worth it seeing my final linoleum piece carved out. Finally, I rolled black paint out on a tray using a brayer. Then, I rolled in onto my linoleum. Once all the raised parts were covered with the paint I flipped it over on a piece of paper and pressed it onto it. Once I pulled it back it leave a slightly sloppier picture of the one I cut out. The final picture I have below was 1/6.
Anna, You did a great job with having an idea that challenges you. I like that you didn't give up when it was hard, but kept going. It turned out AMAZING! Great job!

Great job! You do really hard drawings and art projects that are extremely impressive. You always do a fabulous job on them too just like this one, you did an image of a person and made a print just like her but as a stamp/ print instead!!!
Hi, Anna! My name is Julie, and I'm a student at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. I'm studying to become an elementary school teacher. I love the idea of print making! It forces you to think about the negative space in your work. I'm so glad to hear that you found the project worthwhile even though it was hard and you got hurt. You did a great job, and you are an excellent writer!
